Obituary

of Allegan, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Allegan. Mr. Chopp was born October 23, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Chester and Ruth Marie (Feeney) Chopp. Bud graduated from Lakewood High School in Cleveland, he was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII. He worked for over 30 years with the YMCA as a Youth and Camp Director. From 1976 - 1986, Bud owned and operated Tri-Ponds Campground, in Allegan. Surviving are his 2 children, Carlton Chopp of CO, and Craig and Pamela Chopp of Allegan, 4 grandchildren, Christopher, Calvin, Bethany and Collin, 1 brother, Clifford and Terry Chopp of Ohio, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, his son, Conrad, 1 brother, Charles Chopp and his sister, Lois Loveless. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, March 14, from 1-3 pm at the First Baptist Church in Allegan, where a memorial service will be held at 3 pm. Pastor Greg Carlson will officiate. Private graveside services will be held at Millgove Cemetery, Valley Twp., at a later date. Memorials may be made to Operation Smile, 6435 Tidewater Dr., Norfolk, VA 23509. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
