Monterey Twp., Allegan, MI, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002 at his home. Mr. Myers was born Oct. 17, 1924 in Allegan, the son of Lester W. and Floy (Webb) Myers. He was a graduate of Allegan High School Class of 1942 and had been a member of the Allegan and Hopkins United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had been employed at Frost Smith Casket Co. for 20 years and then Rockwell Int'l for 22 years, retiring in 1986. He had served on the Hudson Corners School Board for many years and the Allegan Public School Board of Education. He was a Hudson Corners 4H leader, specializing in woodworking. He was a wood craftsman and enjoyed hunting. He loved life and people and was a wonderful person. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; 3 children and their spouses, Vicki and Steve Walma, Mark and Lisa Myers and Kim and Greg Balgoyen, all of Allegan; 2 stepchildren, Lorraine and Jerry Reynolds of Grand Junction, CO and Eileen and Lynn Newell of Lake City; 2 grandchildren, Cord and Presley; 7 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; 1 sister, Joy and Bob Kelly of Minnesota; 1 brother-in-law, Leslie and Nan Woodruff of New Baltimore; 2 sisters-in-law, Lucy and Jim Will of Kalamazoo and Jennie Huntley of Plainwell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances, in 1989, and a brother, Hollis. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug 15, at 11 a.m. Pastor Reva Daniel officiating.
