Monterey Twp., Allegan, MI, died Friday, April 7, 2006 at his home. Brian was born October 1, 1956 in Monterey Twp., the son of Robert and Marilyn (Sebright) Runkel. He was a graduate of Hopkins High School, class of 1975. He enjoyed farming and had also worked at Bareman Dairy in Holland for the past 12 years. He loved his family, especially his grandkids, and loved to fish with them. He enjoyed all children and opened his heart and his home to many during difficult times in their lives. Surviving are his wife, Bonneta (Eberhard), whom he married August 24, 1979; 3 sons, Stephen and Susan Runkel of Grand Junction, Derrick Runkel of Monterey Twp., Jonathon Runkel of Monterey Twp., and his fiancee, Sara McFarlan; 4 grandchildren, Macey, Rileigh, Zachary and Kierra; parents, Robert and Marilyn Runkel of Hopkins; 1 brother and his wife, Steve and Linda Runkel of Grand Rapids; 1 sister and her husband, Ann and Dave Krotz of Laurinburg, NC; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, including his grandfather, Walter Runkel, who had previously served as Sheriff of Allegan Co. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Alvin Lambert officiating.
