of Wayland, formerly of Hopkins, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, November 30, 2008. Blanche was born January 6, 1925 in Hopkins, the daughter of Joseph and Nellie (Nowak) Kaminski. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1943 and received her nursing degree from KVCC. She worked for many years as a LPN for Borgess, the Allegan County Medical Care Facility, and Sandy Creek Nursing Home in Wayland, she also volunteered as a nurse at the VFW Camp Trotter in Newaygo. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 7581 in Wayland and was a member of SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Gun Lake. Surviving are 7 children, Paul and Sandi Young of IN, Katherine "Kitti" and Bert Drevers of Hopkins, Michael and Mari Jo Young of Cadillac, Loretta Young of TN, Theresa Strefling, Patty and John Koval and Michelle Bellgraph and Pat Marvin all of Wayland; 12 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; 1 brother, Ed and Lu Kaminski of Grand Rapids; 1 sister, Adeline Baumann of Oregon; sister-in-law, Stella Kaminski of Grand Rapids; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special sister, Bessie Lyons of Ohio and a life long friend, Audrey Watson of Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, a daughter Sharon Bellgraph, 2 brothers, Joseph and Stanley Kaminski. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. snd on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a memorial conducted by the Womens Aux. Post 7581 at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Hilliards. Rev Fr. Christian Johnston, Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery. A luncheon will be served following the interment at the Wayland VFW Post #7581. Memorials may be made to Camp Trotter, SS C & M Building Fund, the Barry County Hospice, or V.F.W. National Home for Children.
