Allegan, MI, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Christman was born Aug. 31, 1916 in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Nimrova) Stibal. She was a member of the First Church of God and had been employed in the kitchen at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility for 24 years, retiring in 1978. Surviving are 4 children and their spouses, Lillian and Gary Pranshka, Lenora and Robert Griffin, Wilfred and Joyce Christman and Joyce and Kenneth Strand, all of Allegan; 19 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ethel Christman and Doris Porebski, both of Allegan; 1 brother, Frank Stibal of Florida; 1 sister-in-law, Blanche Stibal of Coloma; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William, in 1965, and 3 brothers,and 1 granddaughter Bridget Russell. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Jack Eitelbuss officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or the First Church of God.
