Monterey Twp., Allegan, MI, died Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Simons was born April 8, 1957 in Petoskey, MI, the son of Blaine and Polly (Hadix) Simons. He was a local truck driver for many years, was a member of the Assembly of God Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Surviving are his wife, Judith (Eberhard); 2 children, Rebecca and Timothy Hosner of Kalamazoo and Joseph Simons of Allegan; 2 brothers, Roger and Fran Simons of Charlevoix and Anthony and Rita Simons of Florida; 4 sisters, including his twin sister, Elaine and Tom Barnes of Allegan, Charlotte Downey, Ruth and Varice Bourdo and Kanday and Gordon Blair, all of East Jordan; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Roxanna Wood. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Pastor Al Lambert officiating. Interment Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp., with military honors by the Otsego V.F.W. Post #3030. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
