of Allegan, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Allegan General Hospital. She was born August 20, 1929 in Allegan the daughter of Darl and Cecille (Fuller) Brown. She was a 1947 graduate of Allegan High School, and a lifelong Allegan resident. On August 30, 1947 she married John Atkins in Allegan. She worked for many years at Imperial Carving, retiring in the mid 1980's. Beverly was a member of Christ Community Church. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by her husband, John; a son Gary Atkins of Florida; grandchildren Savannah (Alan) Devine, Raven Atkins and Liza Atkins; great grandchildren Gavin, Conner, Emma and Braden; sisters Ruth Bent of Otsego and Helen (Tom) Robertson of Plainwell and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Tremaine; brothers Lloyd, Robert, William and James Brown and a brother-in-law, Thomas Bent. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at Gorden Funeral Residence 528 Trowbridge St., Allegan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Christ Community Church, 3370 113th Avenue, with Pastor G. Patrick White officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the American Diabetes Association.
