Obituary

of Allegan, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Wings Home in Allegan. Mrs. Colley was born March 6, 1922, in Allegan, the daughter of Clayton and Beatrice (Conklin) Oisten. Betty was a great cook, she worked at several restaurants in Allegan, the Log Cabin where she made all the pies, the Big Dipper, and later she and Roy bought and ran the Grill Restaurant. They loved square dancing, traveling around Michigan doing craft shows, going to garage sales and playing bingo. She loved her family, children, grandchildren, greats and great greats. She always took time for them, and they will miss her very much. Surviving are her 6 children; Rosezella Bannach of New York, Betty and Larry Brower, and Roy and Kay Butler all of Allegan, Chuck and Linda Colley of Constantine, Betty Jo Craig and Carole Lou Colley both of Florida, several grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren, 1 brother, Jerry and Judy Oisten of Allegan, 4 sisters; Maxine Sperry, Darlene Houseworth, Margaret Oisten, and Joyce and Robert Meunier all of Allegan, 2 sister-in-laws; Eunice and Carrie Oisten, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands; Roy Butler and Roy Colley, 2 children; Danny and Donna, 2 grandchildren; Steven and Randy, 3 sisters; Jean VanNess, Norma Porter and Beverly Oisten, 4 brothers; Lyle, Clayton, Morris and Norman. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, July 1, from 1pm till service time at 2pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Paul Hays will officiate. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the Wings Home, Allegan, or Wings of Hope Hospice.
