Bernard Leon Schwartz, 66, of Hopkins, MI passed away Monday, January 8, 2018. Born May 13, 1951 in Allegan, MI, he was the son of the late George and Evelyn (Baweja) Schwartz and was the husband of Kathleen (Baier) Schwartz. Mr. Schwartz was a longtime resident of Hopkins and had worked for Spartan Stores as a Hi-Lo Operator for many years. In his spare time, he loved fishing and hunting. In addition to his wife of forty-six years, Mr. Schwartz is survived by his children, Ryan (Sarah) Schwartz, Karen (Rich) Dame and Nick (Emily) Schwartz; his unofficial adopted daughter, Selina Kiss; siblings, George (Colleen) Schwartz, Denise Pluta, Mark (Laurie) Schwartz and Mike (Sandy) Schwartz; brother-in-law, Craig (Toni) Baier; and grandchildren, Ethan, Olivia, Noah, Ella, Luke, Madison and Landri. The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A memorial service will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to Wings of Hope Hospice or Wings Home.
