Bernard Leroy "Butch" Iehl, 72, of Allegan, MI passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at his home. Born February 26, 1946 in Allegan, he was the son of the late Roger Reno Iehl, Sr. and Ina Jean (Mankin) Iehl and was the husband of Robin Gladys (Strickfaden) Iehl, with whom he shared the last 28 plus years. Mr. Iehl served his country honorably in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. While in the military, he received a letter of commendation for a particular combat event. Mr. Iehl loved to travel. He was an avid morel mushroom hunter and enjoyed blue gill fishing. Above all else, though, he was a devoted family man who cherished all his loved ones. In addition to his wife, Mr. Iehl is survived by his children, Andy and Mary Bouman, John and Shaina Iehl and Mona Iehl and Mike Anderson; stepson, Gary and Melissa Canales; siblings, Roger and Vicki Iehl and Gary and Diane Iehl; and five grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Donald Iehl and his sister, Merry Green. The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A funeral service at the funeral home will take place the following day at 1:00 pm with visitation for one-hour prior. Burial in Fort Custer National Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the National Kidney Foundation.
