Beatrice Elaine Bazan, 82, of Allegan, MI passed away Friday, July 4, 2025 peacefully at her home.  Born April 5, 1943 in Allegan, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mildred (Nevenzel) Novotny and was the wife of the late Ricardo Bazan, Sr.  Beatrice had worked for Haworth for many years prior to her retirement.  She was a talented quilter and a member of the Iron Bridge Quilters.  In addition to quilting, Beatrice also enjoyed crocheting and made many blankets and hand towels for others over the years.  She loved gardening and made a pretty mean salsa from her vegetables.  In Beatrice's younger years, she and the family would go camping.  They especially enjoyed trips to Silver Lake where they would ride and build their own dune buggies.  Above all else, family was most important to Beatrice and she treasured the time she spent with hers.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nancy Stamm and Tony Rasmussen; stepsons, Ricardo (Tina) Bazan, Jr. and Arnoldo (Stephanie) Bazan; grandchildren, Jenn (Summer) Stamm, Daniel (Kaitlin) Stamm, Mikayla Bazan, Rose Bazan, Alexandria Bazan and Angela Bazan; great-grandson, Everett Stamm; and several nieces and nephews.  Along with her parents and her husband, Beatrice was preceded in death by her son, Scott Rasmussen; and her brothers, George Novotny, James Novotny, Robert Novotny and William Novotny.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM.  Beatrice will be laid to rest in Brookside Cemetery immediately following.  Plants or live arrangements are welcomed, or memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010.
