Barry Allen Gorham, 72, of Dowagiac, MI passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Ely Manor Nursing Home in Allegan, MI. Born November 15, 1953, he was the son of the late Walter Junior Gorham and Marguerite Ann (Baldwin) Gorham. He was the husband of the late Wanda Borden-Gorham. He was also preceded in death by his sister Karla Gorham.

Barry was an over the road truck driver for many years prior to retirement. He loved seeing the world through his windshield and experiencing new places through his travels. Barry had also previously worked as a mechanic. He spent many hours on his ’68 Chevelle. Barry thoroughly enjoyed racing it. He was able to run 107 in a quarter of a mile at the drag strip, would run 11.87 seconds. Not only did he work on cars but also enjoyed watching them being destroyed at the demolition derby. Barry also loved spending time with his family. Camping trips to Nicholas Lake were a particular favorite in his younger years.

Barry is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Byrd; siblings, Ward Gorham, Sandra Smith, Yvonne Kohler and Melanie Rice; grandchildren, Ethan McNees and Hailey McNees; as well as nephews Tyler Kohler, Cole Rice, and Clay Rice.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting with arrangements.
