Barry “Bubba” Cantrell

November 8, 1957 – August 16, 2026

Barry “Bubba” Cantrell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, pastor, missionary, and friend who devoted much of his life to his faith, his family, his country, and serving others.

He married his wife, Deborah, on February 14, 1997, at Walt Disney World, with Mickey Mouse helping make their wedding day, one they would never forget.

Barry was a proud United States Navy veteran, and his commitment to service continued throughout his life. Later, he volunteered with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, the American Red Cross, and various community programs, always finding ways to give his time and talents to others.

His faith was an important part of his life and his calling. He spent many years serving as a missionary to American military members and their families overseas, including time in England and Germany. After returning to the United States, he continued his ministry as a pastor and marriage officiant. Over the years, he had the special honor of officiating the marriages of several family members and friends, becoming part of some of the most meaningful moments in the lives of those he loved.

Barry leaves behind his wife, Deborah; his daughter, Nadina Anidawehi; his stepdaughter, Alicia Hitchcock; his granddaughters, Denise Anidawehi and Nora Anidawehi; his sisters, Kathy McCorkell and Nancy Cantrell; his nephew, John Cantrell and his wife, Jodi; and many other beloved family members and friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and foster parents; his brother, Matt Cantrell; and his nephew, Lawrence Cantrell.

To those who knew and loved him, Barry was also affectionately known as “Bubba,” a nickname earned in no small part through his seemingly endless supply of dad jokes and the laughter he brought with them.

Through his ministry, his service, his humor, his friendships, and the family he leaves behind, Bubba’s memory will continue in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

May God rest his soul. His work here is finished, and God has called him home.
