of Tennessee, formerly of Allegan, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Mrs. Van Patten was born October 10, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Thomas and Ellen (McCormick) Weitz. Barb was a past member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and had worked for Allegan Tubular for many years. Surviving are 4 children; Terry and Michelle Van Patten of Allegan, Dale and Dawn Van Patten of Richland, Debra and Marty Markins of TN, and David and Dianne Van Patten of TN, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, 3 sisters; Margaret Hacker, Mary and Dink Kaufhold, and Dorothy Moore all of Ohio, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Barb was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Button, her granddaughter, Ericka, and 2 brothers; Thomas and Jimmy. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, July 12, from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church or the Lung Assoc.
