of Allegan, died Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Ely Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Blackman was born October 12, 1928, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Carlton and Irene (Thompson) Cook. Surviving are her son, Howard "Tink" and Nan Blackman of Allegan, 2 granddaughters; Geri Lee and Art Phillips of Allegan, and Stacy and J.D.Osman of Ada, 4 great grandchildren; Matthew, Michael, Katelyn and Ian, 1 step son, Jim and Sharon Fales of MO, 4 step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Betty Jeffries of Allegan, and Linda Evans of Zeeland, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, DuWayne, and her brother, Dewey Nelson. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, May 19, from 4-7 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 am. Pastor Barry Lucas will officiate. Interment Blackman Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp. Memorials may be made to the Ely Manor Nursing Home, Allegan.
