Kalamazoo, MI, formerly of Allegan, died Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Mrs. Nelson was born November 22, 1945 in Oran, Missouri, the daughter of Richard and Katherine (Banks) Davis. She had attended Allegan High School and was a member of the Grace Temple Community Church of Allegan. She had been employed for 25 years at the L. Perrigo Co. Surviving are 2 daughters, Anita (Marvin) Humphrey and Gretchen N. Nelson, all of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, James, Alexis and Jerami; Mother, Katherine Davis of Austin, TX; 1 brother, Richard (Jaki) Davis of Austin, TX; 2 sisters, Barbra Foster of Grand Rapids and Shirley (Darnell) Carter of Allegan; long-time friends, Maria and Bob Schultz of Corpus Christi, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles L. Nelson in 1994, brother, Gary Davis and sister, Patricia Davis. Friends may meet with the family from 12 noon Friday, Feb. 17, until time of service at 2 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com.
