Obituary

of Spring Lake, formerly of Allegan died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Art was born March 20, 1923 in Fennville, the son of Frank and Nancy May (Silcox) Fleming. He graduated from Fennville High School in 1941. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a past member of the Masonic Lodge #111 in Allegan. Art worked for over 60 years in the gravel industry and owned and operated Wolverine Gravel for 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Gladys (Osman) to whom he had been married for 63 years, 3 children, Carol and Norman Fegel of Maryland, Bonnie Evans of Spring Lake, Debra and K.S. Venkatesh of Arizona, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Leon and Ray both of Florida, 1 sister Elsie Bushee of Arizona, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Bert. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, from 6-8 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence Allegan Chapel where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Allegan, Pastor Robert Stover will officiate.
