of Hopkins, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland. Mr. de Bres was born December 25, 1922, in Grand Rapids, the son of Rudolph and Mildred (Hart) de Bres. Art was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Force, having served in WWII. He worked for over 33 years with Conrail Railroad in Grand Rapids. Surviving are his wife, Darlene, 9 children; Carla Wendt, James de Bres, Stacie and Charlie Phillips, Arthur and Colleen de Bres Jr., Tina and Eric Walker, Lisha Jacobs, Toni de Bres and Sally De La Rosa, Dennis and Helena Marsh, and Chris and Brian Oglesbee, 32 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Millie, 2 sisters; Helen and Gladys, son-in-law, Ron Wendt, daughter-in-law, Donna. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, July 2, from 1 pm till service time at 3 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. President David Hagerty will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the funeral home for expenses. Private graveside will take place at Miner Cemetery, Watson Twp.
