Allegan, MI, died Thursday, February 23, 2006 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mrs. Wertz was born April 9, 1920 in Berlamont, MI, the daughter of Clayton & Gertrude (Hogmire) Meyers. She worked for more than 13 years at the Hospital in South Haven as a cook, before retiring in 1979. She loved her family and she also loved her cats. Surviving are 4 children, Lorraine Crowe of Illinois, Betty Lou Lobretto of Utah, Louise Watmough and Karen Esquivel both of Allegan; 22 grandchildren; many great & great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff, and her son, Marvin Stafford. Friends may meet with the family on Monday from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Fred Perry officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan.
