Allen Bonds, 55 of Allegan, died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Battle Creek. Allen was born January 9, 1948 in Chicago, IL the son of Allen and Bernice (Mays) Bonds. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a letter carrier with the U.S. Post Office in Chicago for many years. Surviving are 2 children, Kelly Bonds and Tammy Bonds; 5 grandchildren; his mother, Bernice Els; 3 brothers, Tony El, Tommy El, and Ernest Locke; 3 sisters, Barbara Wyche, Lily Simmons, Mary Thrash; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:30 until time of funeral service at 12:30 at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Harriette Portrum officiating. Interment Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta with military honors at 2:30 pm.
