Obituary

Allan Nicholas Stadler, 82, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 27, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Allan lived a life defined by dedication, craftsmanship, service, and deep family love. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, stationed at KI Sawyer Air Force Base, before settling in Ishpeming, Michigan, where he worked for 31 years at the Empire Iron Ore Mine, retiring as General Foreman.

In retirement, Allan and his beloved wife of 63 years, Judy, made their home in Allegan, Michigan, and enjoyed winters in Phoenix, Arizona. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and community.

Allan was a proud lifetime member of the Ishpeming Elk's and honored twice as Elk of the Year for his leadership with the Veterans Committee. He was also a member of the Allegan Knights of Columbus and a devoted parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

A skilled craftsman, Allan built his first home by hand in Marquette and spent countless hours woodworking. He loved playing golf, especially winning against his children. His grandchildren will remember him as a dedicated and loving Grandpa, always prepared with a dad's joke and ready to share a banana split.

Allan is survived by his loving wife, Judy, and their children: Rick Stadler of Appleton, WI; Tim (Vicki) Stadler of Greenville, WI; Steve (Heather) Stadler of Gilbert, Arizona; and Pam (Aaron) Hartman of Allegan, MI. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Jon (Deb), Josh, Emily (Kyle), Andy (Daisy), Mary, Dean, and Melia; and great-grandchildren: Kitzen, Sienna, Hudson, and Emery. He is also survived by his K9 best friend, Harley.

His legacy lives on in the hearts and stories of his family, who cherished his wisdom, wit, and warmth. Allan's life was filled with love, a dedicated family and loving wife, a legacy that will endure through generations.

Preceded in death by John and Mary Stadler, Westchester, IL; two brothers and two sisters.

Survived by two sisters: Lu Antonovich and Bev Ryan.

A graveside burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery/Blessed Sacrament Cemetery with details announced later.
