age 74, from Allegan, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born October 7, 1940 in Hartford, Michigan, the daughter of Herman and Catherine (Sikkenga) Ritsema. Alice worked for Allegan General Hospital for thirty six and a half years, having retired in 2011. Alice is survived by her husband Raymond Verlin; her children: Grace (Matthew) Smith, Mitch (Lisa) Blacksten, Lisa (John) Hunsberger; her grandchildren: Michelle, Mitchael, Alexandra, Levi; her great-grandchildren: Kailynn, Colton, and McKinley Alice; her brother Ben (Mick) Ritsema; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers: Russ and Henry; and her four sisters: Esther, Ellen, Marge and Fran. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. The Funeral will be on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. also at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Interment is at Lindsley Cemetery, Cheshire Township.
