Alice Eileen Bush, age 78, of Allegan, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 11th, 2021 in her home that she loved and in the presence of those who loved her. She was born on May 23rd, 1942 in Decatur, Michigan to Chester and Helen (Willet) Pendowski. She was a 1960 graduate of Allegan Public High School. Shortly after, she married Lyle Albert Bush on November 27th, 1965 with whom she had her four handsome boys, Casey Bush, Michael (Amy) Bush, Albert Bush, and Shawn (Allison) Bush. Alice had a passion for helping those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and served for nearly 15 years at Allegan's local MOKA facility where she later retired. It would be impossible to capture the spontaneous and wildly creative personality of Alice in just a few words, but her family would like to try. She was an avid rock collector, an expert in pop-culture, and a long time fan of Elvis Presley and Graceland. She loved to let her garden run riot with color, and she imitated this literally and metaphorically within her own home that she filled with floral wallpaper, twinkly lights, decorative stars, good food, fresh coffee, and of course her family. Eclectic, witty, smart, and contagiously fun, Alice Bush was and remains to be the heart of her family that she and Lyle created together. She will forever be cherished and deeply missed by those who knew her, but her family takes pride in who she was and who she will continue to be in their hearts. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Beth, and her brothers Tuck, and George "Pete" (Jackie) Pendowski. She is survived by her brothers Chester "Skeeter" (Faye) Pendowski and Rick (Liz) Pendowski as well as her husband, her boys, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, Matthew (Allison, Boston) Bush, Katelyn (Steve, Koah) Sayounsat, Gabriel Bush, Jacob Bush, Tanner Bush, Sylar Bush, Elizabeth (Logan) Noble, Caleb Bush, and Ryan Bush as well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will be holding a graveside service officiated by Alice's brother-in-law George Bush for close family and friends at Oakwood Cemetery on April 21st at 11am. Contributions should be made to the Wings of Hope Hospice on Linn Street in Allegan, Michigan.
