passed away after a brief illness on August 8, 2015 at the Wings of Hope Hospice Home in Allegan, Michigan. The only child of Margaret and Orville Edwards, Adeline was born on Friday the 13th, January 1922, on a farm near Clear Lake, Iowa. Her father's employment made for several moves during her childhood, but she always spent the summer months with her grandparents in Mason City, Iowa, where she could be found most days at her uncle's Harley Davidson Motorcycle dealership. Eventually her family moved back to Mason City, Iowa. She learned how to drive a car at the age of 12 and was driving a motorcycle during her teen years. When Adeline was 16 she graduated from high school and then graduated from the Hamilton School of Commerce when she was 18. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Allegan, Michigan and began employment at Blood Brothers. During the summer of 1946, she met the man who captured her heart and on June 20, 1948, Adeline married Roger L. Morton. They made their home in Plainwell until moving to Allegan in 1950. Adeline became an active member of the Allegan community volunteering in both the parochial and public school systems; at the Allegan General Hospital; with the Allegan Historical Society; and with the Ladies Altar Society at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Adeline was the executive secretary in the Allegan County Fair Office for many years and made history by being the first woman elected to a board position with the Allegan County Fair. Adeline is probably best remembered as one of the original Blessed Sacrament Church "Pie Ladies" who introduced the pie pantry at the church's annual bazaar. For years the "Pie Ladies" would spend many a summer day in the church kitchen prepping fresh fruit, making pie crusts from scratch, and assembling fruit pies that were then frozen and sold at the Blessed Sacrament Ladies' Altar Society Annual Bazaar. The pie pantry continues to this day. Adeline was an avid reader; enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and movies on TV. She was fun-loving and always ready for a friendly game of cards. She enjoyed the chaos of the holidays when all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren would gather to celebrate with her. Throughout her life, Adeline leaned heavily on her faith in the saving grace of God and she displayed that faith through her words, actions, and behind-the-scene deeds. She will be remembered as a classy lady who gave without hesitation to family, friends, and community. Surviving are her 3 children: Mike (Diane) Morton, Ron (Sandy) Morton, Pam (Mike) Miller; her 9 grandchildren: Hollie (Bishop) Bartoni, Thomas (Jamie) Morton, John (Lacey) Morton, Kathryn (Tavis) Parker, Cody (Whitney) Morton, Jordan Miller, Amanda (Joe) Lanser, Luke (Paige) Miller, C.J. (Autumn) Miller; her 13 great grandchildren: Baillie, Brodie, Bradley, Bennett, Brooklynn, Matteo, Marx, Eason, Lochlyn, Jayden, Moriah, Ryder, and her name-sake, Adeline (Addie); her sister-in-law Marilynn Hoffman; several nieces and nephews. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Charles Kelly; Orville (Rusty) Edwards, and her husband, Roger Morton. Friends may meet with family from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12th, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, with Rosary recitation at 6pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13th, at Blessed Sacrament Church, Allegan Michigan, with interment at Oakwood's Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery. Rev. Fr.
