Jeffrey Craig McCormack

Sadly, Jeffrey C. McCormack of Hamilton, MI passed away unexpectedly on Sunday Sept 3, 2017 at his home. Jeff was born July 7,1948 in Battle Creek, MI to the late Ralph R. McCormack and Bonolyn J. (Merriam) McCormack. He was a graduate of Lakeview High School, class of 1966, After graduating he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. in September, 1966. He served proudly during his tour of duty in the Vietnam War where he wounded in action, receiving the Purple Heart. After being discharged from the military he had worked for United Steel & Wire while living in Battle Creek. Eventually, he moved to the Hamilton/Hopkins area in Allegan County. He had worked at Sandy Pines Recreational Resort Park for several years until he retired. Jeff enjoyed playing golf with his dad and his league buddies until his health got the best of him. Jeff was a very passionate cat lover. All of his kitty cats, past & present, we so special to him. He leaves behind his cat "Winkin" who now has another new loving home. Jeff could get a good conversation or argument going when it come to politics or the military. He had very passionate views on both. Jeff helped care for his father along with his sister, for seven years. He is survived by his son Michael McCormack, Leslie (Michael's fiancee), granddaughter Kennedee, Leslie's son Shane. Sister Brenda Moon, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins. And his former wife, Judy McCormack. Per Jeff's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements through Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan MI. A full military service will be held at Fort National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI at 10:00 am on Friday September 15th, 2017. Memorial donations in Jeff's name can be made to: Humane Society of South Central MI, 2500 Watkins Rd, Battle Creek, MI 49015. or Wounded Warriors Project MI.
