Linda Lee VanOrder, 77, of Allegan, MI passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Allegan General Hospital. Born December 7, 1941 in Plainwell, she was the daughter of the late George and Beulah (Reed) Stearns and the wife of the late Harvey VanOrder. Linda loved life on the farm, tending to the animals and making home cooked meals. Her beef noodles and chop suey were favorites of her family. She also enjoyed spending time outside hunting mushrooms, going camping and watching the birds. The red cardinals were her favorite. Linda had loved to go line dancing and had been a line dancing instructor. Her dogs, Waggles and Gizmo, were her great companions. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, was, by far, Linda’s favorite pastime.
She is survived by her children, Janet (Gary) Zajac, Melaney (Greg) Wells, Jamie (Donald) Archer and Jenine Kimble McIntosh; her brother, Phil Stearns; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and her husband, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Stearns; and her great-grandson, Hunter Miller.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
