I’ve only known Kathy a short time but she made a lasting impression on us. We shared toys together but more than that we shared prayers and burdens together. I loved talking to her in the evening and getting her point of view. We both loved our time with her. Will truly miss her!!! Would love to be there today but we also had a death in the family. We are thinking of you and praying!! David and Betty Markel

There are friends and then there are TRUE friends that you are blessed to have and that you can count on the fingers of one hand. Kathy was one of those TRUE friends to me and I will miss her terribly. I have known her since Jr High school and as the years have passed we have just become closer and better friends. My mother had a daycare and babysat ALL of Kathy's children when they were small, Paula and the boys seemed like part of our family too. My mom and Kathy were good friends as well and they shared many interests from cats to gardening and flowers. Kathy was one of the most caring and kind hearted people I have ever known in my life; her Christian faith was strong and she practiced it in all areas of her life. Kathy always made time for people even though she led a very busy life; I could always depend on her to be there for me no matter what; she also was very supportive of my daughter and her skating career and attended one of her ice shows in Detroit as well as her Hall of Fame induction into the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame. That all meant alot to me. I know that Kathy is resting in peace in the arms of Jesus now and in no more pain, and though I miss her; our loss is heaven's gain. Blessings and comfort to her family and strength to get through this difficult time.
