In Loving Memory of
Duane (Duke) Marlo Mason, Jr.
May 21, 1959 – May 31, 2020

Duane (Duke) Marlo Mason, Jr., passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Pipp Hospital in Plainwell, Michigan. Born May 21, 1959 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was the son of Duane and Barbara (Kelly) Mason, Sr. of Indiana and the husband of Kathryn (Traxler) Mason. Duke was a loving husband, father and stepfather. He was a man of many talents and especially enjoyed fishing and landscaping projects. The love of Jesus Christ kept him going through his struggles in life. Duke was always there for anyone who needed him. He had a great love for his family and treasured his time with them.

Along with his parents and his wife, Duke is survived by his daughter, Miranda (Gallager) Short and grandson, Carter Mason Short of Maryland; his son, Hawk Powell Mason of Washington; stepdaughter, Amy K. Traxler and grandchildren Donovan James Allison and Kyra Lee Allison of Texas; and stepson, Brian James Cooper (Jessica Lee Cooper) of Plainwell; his brother, Daniel Mason of Indiana; his sister, Cheryl (Mason) Garretson of Indiana; brother-in-law, William Ray Traxler of Texas and sister-in-law, Sandra Marie Traxler of Texas; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darrin Mason; and sister, Anna Schewe.

Thank you for your endless love that helps me through each day
and thank you for the memories that will never fade away.

You’re the man I loved and I was proud to be your wife and
everyday in some small way I celebrate your life.

Although it’s sad to think about the way things were before.

When we are reunited, I will be Forever More.

Love – Kathryn Mason
