The matriarch of our family, Stella G. Kolhoff, the daughter of Frank and Florence Thompson, passed away peacefully in the early morning of August 3rd at the Allegan County Medical Care Community where she resided for the past several years. Stella was a longtime resident of Allegan, well known for her love and care of children. Her husband, Bruce Kolhoff, faithfully assisted in her care until her time of death. Together they fostered an uncountable number of children over 54 years. Consequently adding to the five biological children by adopting and raising twelve more. Stella was preceded in death by three of her "kids" whom she is surely hugging with all her might: Tiffany Kolhoff, Malinda Franks and Julie Moyer (Baby Todd). The surviving Kolhoff children are Allen A. Kolhoff, Vickie L. Miller (Steve), Dawn Y. Snyder, David T. Kolhoff (Barb), Timothy B. Kolhoff (Melody), Tony R. Kolhoff (Lynn), Susanne K. Kolhoff, Richard W. Kolhoff, Peggy L. Walkley, Robert E. Kolhoff, Paul H. Kolhoff, Nina M. Kolhoff, Mary Ann Maddux, and Lucy C. Chepy; along with grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids too numerous to list. Besides her passion of helping others, Stella loved camping and when time allowed, gardening. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private time of remembrance at a later date. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
