My prayers are with you as you all begin the time in your life without your mom. Having lost mom this past August, I know what you are going through. Rudy (as we called her) was a special person in my life. She was like a second mom to me in the days of Donald Street. There were times I went to her before I went to my mom. Both of our families did not have much, but we all had love. Rudy always stayed in our lives and was there for many special occasions in our family; births, weddings, and family gatherings. As time went on, distance set in but Rudy was always thought about. It was a blessing to see her at mom's funeral. After that, she and I communicated through email and we were playing "catch up". I was hurt to know that our conversations were cut short as we were making plans to get together again. I will always hold her close. The Lord knew my mom needed a friend with her, so he took the best one she ever had...Karen. They are now up there sitting at the table, talking and drinking coffee (no cigarettes this time). Remember her with love and it will get better with time, but your heart will still ache, I know mine does. I hope that you all will stay in touch with me. From the Stanfield family to yours, we love you and pray for you.
