Jody Lynn (Hayworth) Lawrence

Jody L. Lawrence, 52 of Allegan, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 after a courageous fight against cancer. Jody was born on June 13, 1965 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Barry Hayworth and Mary Jane (Emmons) Dozman, who survive her. Sports represented a great pastime for Jody and her family. Whether it was rooting for her favorite football teams (University of Michigan and the Minnesota Vikings), her Detroit Tigers or attending and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events, she truly enjoyed sports. She also loved her dogs and most importantly, her family. She fought hard over the past two and a half years to stay with them and be a part of their lives. She participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, being a part of the Hope for All team. Jody made her presence known and left her mark on so many people. Her courageous fight didn't define who she was, but helped to show all whom she loved that she wanted to be with them and share their lives. In addition to her parents, Jody is also survived by her husband of 22 years, James R. Lawrence; her children, Jaime Lynn Caldwell (Kyle David Grinage), Jessica Lynn Crisman (Devin Michael Crisman), and Joshua Leroy Lee (Raeanna Elaine Blank); 7 grandchildren, Jordan Caldwell, Abby Caldwell, Bridget McKinley, Caleb Lee, Kyla Lee, Addision Crisman, and Liam Lee; 2 brothers, Gary Hayworth and Frank Hayworth (Stacy); 4 sisters, Debbie Gray (Todd), Kristy Uribe (John), Michelle Courtier (Johnny), and Kim Fox (Carl); special friend, Jesse Brown, whom she thought of as one her own children; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Carl Fox, Jr. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Memorial donations may be made in Jody's name to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Hope for All team.
