Louis “Louie” Coffey, 56 of Pullman, died Sunday, December 14, 2003 at St. Mary’s Mercy Medical Center, Grand Rapids. Louie was born July 21, 1947 in Allegan, MI the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Foot) Coffey. He was a die setter at Hart & Cooley in Holland for 25 years retiring in 1993. He enjoyed farming and farm equipment and animals all of his life. He loved to hunt, fish, ice fishing, draft horses, auctions, his horse and buggy, being with friends and his grandchildren. He lived for the VFW Club and was presently the president of the Dads Organization of the VFW Post #7911 in Fennville and also the canteen manager. Surviving are his wife Patricia, whom he married on Sept. 3, 1994; 4 children, Louis “Glenn” & Robin Coffey, Dorothy & Tim Hunter, Deanna & Steve McNeece, Debra & Joe Ehn; 14 grandchildren; 3 stepchildren, Shelley Luchene, Sam Luchene, Serina & Brian Morren; 5 step grandchildren; 4 sisters, Dena Coffey, Martha Novotny, Angela & Don Beldon, Alice & Roger Ridlington; 2 brothers, Arthur Coffey, Ernie & Sharon Coffey; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Ernest Eugene Coffey; 1 sister, Aleta Storey; 1 sister-in-law, Verna Coffey; 1 brother-in-law, Bob Novotny; his mother-in-law, Amanda Robinson. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where services will be held Friday 11:00 am. Rev. G. Patrick White officiating.
